IPL 2020, CSK vs KXIP: Plessis-Watson duo blasts off CSK to a massive victory against KXIP

In the 18th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL), Chennai Super Kings (CSK) makes a comeback by a massive victory against Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) by 10 wickets at Dubai International Cricket Stadium. Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson's incredible partnership helped CSK chase down the target of 179 runs given by KXIP. Plessis scored 87 runs off 53 balls while Watson scored 83 runs off 53 balls aided 3 by sixes and 11 fours. KL Rahul played a wonderful innings with a knock of 63 runs off 52 balls. With tonight's win against KXIP, CSK now stand at the 6th position in the points table of the current season of IPL.

Skipper KL Rahul won the toss and elected to bat first. Kings XI Punjab had a great start aided by Skipper Rahul and Mayank Agarwal's partnership. KL Rahul shined for the KXIP with his brilliant knock of 63 runs off 52 balls. However, Mayank Agarwal took an early exit with his knock of 26 runs off 19 balls. Mandeep Singh had an average innings with his knock of 27 runs off 16 balls. Nicholas Pooran made quick runs for the KXIP with his explosive knock of 33 runs off 17 balls aided by 3 sixes and a four. Glenn Maxwell and Sarfaraz Khan remained undefeated as KXIP set a target of 179 runs for the CSK to chase. Shardul Thakur remained the most effective bowler for the CSK as he grabbed 2 wickets in his spell of 4 overs. However, Deepak Chahar was the most economical bowler in his spell of 3 overs for the CSK.
Chennai Super Kings made a spectacular comeback through tonight's match in the 13th edition of the IPL. CSK being given a target of 179 runs, started and finished their innings in ablaze. Openers Faf du Plessis and Shane Watson's incredible partnership helped CSK finish the innings in the 18th over itself. Faf du Plessis played undefeated and explosive innings of 87 runs aided by a six and 11 fours, while Shane Watson also played an equally classy innings of 83 runs aided by 3 sixes and 11 fours. Kings XI Punjab's bowlers had a very bad day as none of them remained successful in stopping the mammoth partnership of Plessis and Watson.
Chennai Super Kings is now required to maintain tonight's form and confidence in their upcoming matches as well.
