IPL 2020, DC vs SRH: Rashid Khan dominates as Sunrisers Hyderabad beat Delhi Capitals by 15 runs
In the 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 15 runs at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Rashid khan's epic spell destroyed the batting line-up of the Delhi Capitals. Aided by openers David Warner and Jonny Bairstow's brilliant partnership, SRH had given a target of 163 runs for the DC to chase. Kane Williamson played his first match of the season for the SRH tonight, giving them an edge they lacked in their previous games.
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to field first. Skipper David Warner and Jonny Bairstow gave SRH a good start with the former scoring 45 runs off 33 balls while the latter scoring 53 runs off 48 balls. After the fall of the wicket of the Skipper, Manish Pandey came to the crease but got out at 3 runs. In his first match this season, Kane Williamson played an impressive knock of 41 runs off 26 balls. By the end of 20 overs, SRH gave a target of 163 runs for the DC to chase. Kagiso Rabada remained the most economical bowler in his spell while also taking 2 wickets for the DC. Amit Mishra took 2 wickets as well.
Delhi Capitals had a bad start with them losing Prithvi Shaw's wicket in the early. Opener Shikhar Dhawan scored 34 runs off 31 balls. Skipper Shreyas Iyer got out and ended up making 17 runs off 21 balls. Rishabh Pant and Shimron Hetmyer tried to save the boat of the DC but remained unsuccessful with the former scoring 32 runs while the latter scoring 21 runs. Rashid Khan shined in his amazing spell as he took 3 crucial wickets for the SRH while also being very economical. Rashid Khan had an economy rate of 3.50 in tonight's game. Bhuvneshwar Kumar had a great match tonight as he took 2 wickets for the SRH.
Delhi Capitals lost their first match of the season tonight after a great start. Unlike in their previous games, DC's batsmen remained unsuccessful in chasing an average target of 163 runs given by the SRH. Sunrisers Hyderabad's bowlers dominated DC's batsmen from the beginning. Even the Skipper Shreyas Iyer couldn't find himself a comfortable position to retaliate.
Sunrisers Hyderabad made a great comeback tonight after a disastrous start this season. Tonight also marked as the first match of the season for the Kane Williamson, who shined in his innings.
