IPL 2020, KKR vs RCB: Mohammed Siraj dominates as RCB beat KKR by 8 wickets


In the 39th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 8 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Mohammed Siraj shined for the RCB with him grabbing 3 wickets in his spell of 4 overs, out of which 2 were maiden ones. Kolkata Knight Riders registered their lowest 20-over total in the history of IPL tonight. KKR's batting line-up collapsed before the might of RCB's bowlers as they gave a very low target of 85 runs for the RCB to chase tonight, which they did in the 14th over itself. With their massive win tonight against KKR, Royal Challengers Bangalore now stands at the 2nd position in the points table of the 13th edition of the IPL after dethroning Mumbai Indians (MI) tonight. However, KKR continues to stand at the 4th position in the points table of IPL 2020.

Skipper Eoin Morgan won the toss and elected to bat first. Kolkata Knight Riders had the worst start tonight with the sudden collapse of its batting line-up. Openers Shubhman Gill and Rahul Tripathi lost their wickets after making just a single run each tonight. While Nitish Rana lost his wicket without making any runs, Tom Banton just made 10 runs tonight. Dinesh Karthik and Skipper Eoin Morgan struggled as the former losing his wicket after making 4 runs, while the latter playing a slow innings of 30 runs off 34 balls. With the help of Pat Cummins, Kuldeep Yadav, and Lockie Ferguson, the KKR registered their lowest total in IPL history. KKR gave an easy target of 85 runs for the RCB to chase tonight. Mohammed Siraj shined for RCB with his amazing bowling. Siraj destroyed the batting line-up of KKR with him grabbing 3 wickets in his spell of 4 overs while giving away just 8 runs tonight. Yuzvendra Chahal also grabbed 2 wickets tonight for the RCB at an economy rate of 3.75.



Given the easy target, Royal Challengers Bangalore had a great start with opener Devdutt Padikkal scoring 25 runs off 17 balls tonight. The other opener Aaron Finch lost his wicket after playing a slow innings of 16 runs off 21 balls. Aided by Gurkeerat Singh and skipper Virat Kohli's good partnership, RCB easily chased down the target of 85 runs given by the KKR tonight within the 14th over. Lockie Ferguson grabbed a single wicket tonight in his spell of 4 overs while also being the most economical bowler for the KKR tonight.
