IPL 2020, KKR vs SRH: Shubhman Gill and Eoin Morgan's fiery innings help KKR beat SRH by 7 wickets
In the 8th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by 7 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Shubhman Gill and Eoin Morgan's fiery innings help KKR chase down a target of 143 runs given by the SRH.

David Warner won the toss and elected to bat first. Warner opened with Jonny Bairstow. While the skipper scored a decent 36 runs, Bairstow got out after making just 5 runs. The next Batsmen in line, Manish Pandey and Wriddhiman Saha played a slow partnership with the former scoring 51 runs off 38 balls, while the latter made a decent 30 runs off 31 balls. At the end of 20 overs, SRH made only 142 runs at the cost of 4 wickets. After a sublime performance in his last match, Pat Cummins showed significant improvement as he remained the most economical bowler in his spell for KKR.
Opener Shubhman Gill started the innings for KKR in a stable way, while the other opener Sunil Narine got out making 0 run. After Narine's dismissal, Nitish Rana came to the crease and made 26 runs before his dismissal in the match. Dinesh Karthik lost his wicket without making a single run. The partnership of Shubhman Gill and Eoin Morgan pushed KKR to victory against the SRH, with the former scoring mammoth 70 runs off 62 balls, while the latter made 42 runs off 29 balls. Rashid Khan remained the most economical bowler with his spell for the SRH and took a wicket.
It was an easy victory for the KKR tonight as they dominated the opponent team throughout the match. This victory marks as a great comeback for the Kolkata team after their disappointing performance in the opener match. With their 2nd consecutive loss tonight, the Sunrisers Hyderabad now sits at the bottom of the points table. It's time for the SRH to introspect their weaknesses and make a comeback if they want to win the 13th edition of the IPL.
