IPL 2020, MI vs DC: MI back on top of the points table as they beat DC by 5 wickets

In the 27th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Mumbai Indians (MI) beat Delhi Capitals (DC) by 5 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant partnership helped MI in chasing down the target of 163 runs given by the DC tonight. With the help of Shikhar Dhawan's undefeated knock of 69 runs off 52 balls, the DC had set the target of 163 runs for the MI to chase. With tonight's win against the Delhi Capitals, the Mumbai Indians are now at the top of the points table of IPL 2020. Whereas, the Delhi Capitals sit comfortably at the 2nd position in the points table.
Skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first. Delhi Capitals had an average start with the fall of Prithvi Shaw's wicket in the early. Shaw made just 4 runs off 3 balls tonight for the DC. Whereas, the other opener Shikhar Dhawan played a brilliant innings tonight with his undefeated knock of 69 runs off 52 balls. Today Ajinkya Rahane played his first match of the 13th edition of IPL but failed to impress tonight as he lost his wicket after making 15 runs off 15 balls. Skipper Shreyas Iyer had a great partnership with Dhawan tonight and played an average innings of 42 runs off 33 balls. Marcus Stoinis remained unsuccessful in shining in the batting department as he lost his wicket after making 13 runs tonight. Alex Carey gave a last-minute push with his undefeated 14 runs knock. Dhawan and Carey were able to give a decent target of 163 runs for the MI to chase. Krunal Pandya remained the most effective bowler as he grabbed 2 wickets for the MI tonight while also being very economical in his spell of 4 overs.
Mumbai Indians had a bumpy start with early wicket Skipper Rohit Sharma. The skipper struggled against the DC bowlers tonight as he made only 5 runs off 12 balls. However, Quinton de Kock and Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant partnership with their bat for the MI tonight. Both de Kock and Yadav scored 53 runs each for the MI. Although, Yadav had a better strike rate. After the fall of the duo, Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya came to the crease to help chase down the DC's target. While Kishan played an average innings of 28 runs off 15 balls, the Hardik Pandya lost his wicket for a duck. Kieron Pollard and Krunal Pandya's last-minute fiery knock's helped MI chase down the target given by the DC tonight. Kagiso Rabada shined for the DC tonight as he grabbed 2 wickets while also being very economical in his spell of 4 overs.
