IPL 2020, RCB vs RR: Royal Challengers Bangalore grabs easy win against Rajasthan Royals

In the 15th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) grabs an easy win against Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 8 wickets at Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. Rajasthan Royals, by the end of 20 overs, gave a low target of 155 runs for the RCB to chase. RR's young blood Mahipal Lomror impressed everyone today with the bat as he made 47 runs for his team. The RCB bowlers had a great day, as they limited the batting line-up of Rajasthan Royals to a low score. Aided by Devdutt Padikkal and Virat Kohli's 100+ runs partnership, RCB chased down the target of 155 runs with ease. Youngster Padikkal's performance today has been phenomenal, with his brilliant knock of 63 runs off 45 balls. After sublime performances in the past matches of the 13th edition of IPL, Virat Kohli shut his critics with his superb knock of 72 runs off 53 balls.

Skipper Steven Smith won the toss and elected to bat first. Joss Buttler opened for the RR along with the Skipper Steven Smith, while the former made 22 runs off 12 balls, the latter failed to impress today as he got out making just 5 runs. Kerala youngster Sanju Samson fail to provide any support for the RR as he lost his wicket in the early and ended up making 4 runs. Rajasthan Royals lost 3 crucial wickets to Royal Challengers Bangalore by the end of 6 overs. Robin Uthappa's 17 runs off 22 balls couldn't help steady the sinking ship of RR. Youngster Mahipal Lomror grabbed eyeballs with his brilliant knock of 47 runs off 39 balls. Riyan Parag tried to fight back the might of RCB's bowlers but failed as he lost his wicket, making just 16 runs for the RR. Rahul Tewatia and Jofra Archer's explosive knocks came out as a blessing for the RR as the former scored 24 runs off 12 balls aided by 3 sixes, while the latter scored 16 runs off 10 balls, allowing RR to give an average yet the respectable target of 155 runs for the RCB to chase. Yuzvendra Chahal shined for the RCB as he grabbed 3 wickets while also being economical in his spell of 4 overs. Sri Lankan player Isuru Udana also grabbed 2 wickets for the RCB in his spell of 4 overs.
With an average target onboard, Royal Challengers Bangalore vigilantly started their innings. Despite losing the Aaron Finch's (8 runs off 7 balls) wicket, the opener Devdutt Padikkal impressed everyone with his brilliant knock of 63 runs off 45 balls. Skipper Virat Kohli took his time to settle down and made impressive 72 runs off 53 balls, supporting the youngster in the game. Padikkal, together with captain Kohli, sealed the innings for the RCB with their 100+ runs partnership today. However, Padikkal lost his wicket before finishing the game as he got dismissed by Shreyas Gopal's brilliant bowling. Virat Kohli, together with AB de Villiers, chased down the target given by RR and won the match by 8 wickets. Jofra Archer remained the most economical bowler in his spell for the RR while also taking a wicket.
