Teen girl hacked to death using an axe by her father in UP

In a horrendous incident, a father in UP's Kanpur hacked his 18-year-old daughter to death by an axe in full public view after finding her at boyfriend's residence.

The incident took place at Khanpanna Kanpur dehat district of Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday morning.

The victim had left her home on late Tuesday night to live with her 20-year-old boyfriend.

Knowing about the daughter fleeing, the accused father accompanied by family members rushed to the youth's house. After a fierce argument broke out between father and daughter, she refused to return home. The father filled with rage started hitting her with an axe in full public view until life ceased within her.

After receiving the information from residents, police rushed to the crime spot and have arrested the accused father. "Its a case of honour killing. We have arrested the girl's father and recovered the axe," said Kanpur Dehat ADSP, Anup Kumar.
